The Pilots apartment services program provides permanent housing and case management support for individuals with mental illness and/or a co-occurring substance abuse disorder who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Pilots’s staff work to engage individuals in an effort to generate and increase motivation to accept needed services and housing, and to assist in selecting, obtaining and maintaining permanent housing. Case management support is designed to help residents meet the obligations of tenancy, to increase residential stability, to increase daily living skills, to maintain recovery from substance abuse and mental illness, to increase natural supports and to maximize self-determination. This program is a collaborative effort with the Family & Children’s Agency, Inc. of Norwalk.
